In the United States this last Monday in May is Memorial Day, where we remember and honor those who have serve in the military and who lost their lives. But it is also Africa Day, a day commemorating the founding of the OAU (Organisation of African Unity) and “an opportunity to celebrate the continent’s achievements and to reflect on its challenges, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said.”
This Africa Day we invite the global community to visit our wonderful partners on T160K.org and share their successes and goals with your communities. Our champions and supporters are as much a part of this larger African community as our partners are and your voices and sharing across social media are catalysts for the success of our partners in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Mali. From a school for dance creating careers, to a cataloging library project of medieval manuscripts, to a center for African photography, to a social justice circus to musicians and documentarians we invite you all to learn more!
